Brazil’s Orizon Valorização de Resíduos has secured a US$43 million (€41.7 million) financing deal with Banco do Nordeste do Brasil (BNB) to build a biomethane plant, according to BN Americas.
The plant, located in Pernambuco state, is already in an advanced stage of construction. It will have a production capacity of 130,000 cubic meters per day. Orizon has a contract with Copergás, Pernambuco’s gas distributor, to supply 60,000 cubic meters per day.
The gas will be sourced from Orizon’s local eco-park, where landfill-derived biogas is currently used to generate electricity.
