Biogas plants to boost industrial growth in north Andhra: CM Chandrababu Naidu

Vizianagaram: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday  virtually laid the foundation stone for two biogas plants to be set up by PVS Rammohann Industries Private Limited — one at Arasada in Vangara mandal of Vizianagaram district and the other at Santhavuriti village in G. Sigadam mandal of Srikakulam district, reports The Hindu.

Speaking from Kanigiri in Prakasam district, Mr. Naidu congratulated P.V.S. Rammohan, chairman of the company, for choosing remote areas for industrial development. The project, estimated to cost ₹102 crore, aims to use agriculture waste to power the biogas plants, which will start with a capacity of 50 tonnes per day.

The North Andhra districts, including Vizianagaram, would see faster industrial growth with the new projects being taken up by the State government, said the Chief Minister.

Minister for Tribal Welfare Gummadi Sandhya Rani, Rajam MLA Kondru Murali Mohan, Vizianagaram MLA Aditi Vijayalakshmi, and District Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy joined the Chief Minister during the virtual ceremony.

Ms. Sandhya Rani and Mr. Murali Mohan said that Rajam had a long history as an industrial town and expressed confidence that it would regain its past status with the establishment of new industries.

Collector Ramsundar Reddy encouraged industrialists to invest in Vizianagaram district, assuring them that applications would be processed quickly under the single window policy.
