Andrew Bernard appointed CEO of Greengate Biogas to drive sustainable energy initiatives in Ireland

Greengate Biogas has announced the appointment of Andrew Bernard as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

The company focuses on developing, constructing, and operating biogas plants throughout Ireland. These plants offer an environmentally friendly method for transforming waste into sustainable energy and fertilizers.

Greengate specializes in building and managing biomethane plants that process manure and organic waste, converting them into biomethane for injection into the national gas grid, as well as producing organic fertilizers for local farmers.

The company aims to achieve a 30% share of Ireland’s biomethane production by 2030.

Greengate highlighted Bernard’s extensive industry knowledge and global connections as key reasons for his selection as CEO. He also brings significant experience in managing complex energy and waste management businesses.

In his remarks about the appointment, Mr. Bernard expressed his enthusiasm: “I am honored to join Greengate Biogas at such a crucial time for both the company and the renewable energy sector in Ireland. The chance to contribute to the decarbonization of Ireland’s gas supply through innovative biomethane projects is incredibly exciting. I look forward to collaborating with our talented team to drive growth, improve operational efficiencies, and play a vital role in Ireland’s transition to a more sustainable energy future.”

Before joining Greengate Biogas, Andrew founded and served as the Principal Consultant at Biscayne Consulting Ltd. in London, UK. His consultancy focused on providing strategic business and commercial development advice, particularly in the areas of alternative proteins, waste management, logistics, and renewable energy projects.
