Alaska Airlines takes major step towards sustainable aviation future by investing in JetZero

Alaska Airlines (AS) is taking a major step towards a sustainable aviation future by investing in JetZero, an innovative company developing a new blended-wing body (BWB) aircraft.

JetZero, based in California, is designing an aircraft that is expected to reduce fuel consumption by up to 50% and lower emissions. This investment underscores Alaska Airlines’ dedication to advancing technology that supports its goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.

The investment, made through Alaska Star Ventures (ASV), the airline’s venture arm, includes financial support as well as an option for future aircraft orders. Alaska Airlines was the first airline to invest in JetZero during its Series A funding round last year, reflecting its early interest in the company’s groundbreaking technology.
