In a significant move to fulfill the commitments made during Advantage Assam 2.0, the Government of Assam has initiated a series of proactive steps aimed at fast-tracking the state’s industrial development, signaling a wave of transformative growth, according to an official release.
As part of this initiative, a major event was organized yesterday at the Srimanta Sankaradeva International Auditorium in Guwahati, where the state government held formal land allocation and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) exchange ceremonies with prominent investors.
Speaking at the MoU signing event, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that 20 projects worth Rs. 22,900 crore, conceptualized during #AdvantageAssam2.0, have now moved into the execution phase. The signed MoUs encompass significant ventures in areas such as waste management, the Tata Gateway project, solar power generation, and ethanol production—signifying major strides in Assam’s industrial growth.
Highlighting an MoU with Matheson Hydrogen, the Chief Minister also noted that agreements have been finalized with three ethanol-producing companies. He reported notable progress in projects led by Kamakhya Biofuels, Gulshan Polyols, Aadhar Green, and Cis Biotech. Furthermore, he mentioned substantial developments in the Brahmaputra Breweries project in Tihu.
It is worth noting that during the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit, the state government signed MoUs amounting to over Rs. 5 lakh crore with both domestic and international firms. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led central government for their support, crediting the summit as a key driver in advancing Assam’s industrial sector.
