The Green Hydrogen Policy recently introduced by Uttar Pradesh is set to unlock 19 projects valued at Rs 1.95 lakh crore, all of which were committed during last year’s Global Investors’ Summit in February.
“We in UP are focused on establishing a capacity to produce one million tonnes of green hydrogen annually. This endeavor is expected to generate over 1.2 lakh jobs in the coming months,” said Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, minister for industries and infrastructure development.
As per media report, Officials at Invest UP claimed that the state had received investment proposals on the count. With the policy in place, the state is now ready to roll out investment incentives in capital outlay, land availability, power transmission among other things.
Furthermore, preparations are underway to establish two centers of excellence (CoE) dedicated to research and innovation in green hydrogen. The Uttar Pradesh State New and Renewable Energy Development Agency has been designated as the nodal body for overseeing these initiatives.
