Vietnam Green Hydrogen Center inaugurated in Ho Chi Minh City

The Vietnam Green Hydrogen Center was officially inaugurated on October 23 at the Vietnamese-German University in Ho Chi Minh City, marking a major milestone in the country’s clean energy transition, reported VnEconomy.

The center was established under the International Hydrogen Market Promotion Program (H2Uppp), supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

Part of a broader global effort to reduce carbon emissions and advance renewable energy, the Vietnam Green Hydrogen Center serves not only as a physical facility but also as a collaborative network linking businesses, research institutions, and government bodies to promote innovation in the hydrogen sector.

The center will prioritize training and capacity building for experts, policymakers, and technicians—an essential step toward creating a skilled workforce capable of meeting the growing needs of the renewable energy industry. It will also introduce and demonstrate advanced hydrogen technologies, helping to accelerate the development of Vietnam’s hydrogen market.

The inauguration represents an important step forward in Vietnam’s energy transition, supported by strong government commitment and international cooperation. The center is expected to play a key role in advancing a sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous green economy.

A highlight of the launch event was the signing of three strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs): between Indefol and Infineon, Deutsche Bank and Indefol, and Wealth Power Group and Indefol.

An exhibition showcasing green hydrogen technologies and initiatives also took place, featuring participation from numerous Vietnamese and German enterprises. The exhibition provided a platform for companies to display advanced technologies, engage with investors, and explore partnership opportunities across the hydrogen value chain.

Additionally, a dedicated discussion session on Vietnam-Germany cooperation in developing the green hydrogen market was held, bringing together experts and industry leaders from both countries.
