The ethanol unit of Allianz Distillery Limited, located in Chhata, was officially inaugurated by Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, Minister for Sugar Mill and Sugarcane Development, alongside a company representative.
This facility is a 100 KLPD (Kilolitres Per Day) grain-based ethanol plant, developed with an investment of ₹160 crore.
The plant plans to source crop residues, including stubble, directly from farmers and use them to generate electricity.
Speaking to ChiniMandi, company director Sanjay Sangwan explained that the ethanol produced at the unit will be blended with petrol. The facility is equipped with complete infrastructure, including an in-house power plant, which will run on stubble as a fuel source for electricity production.
Sangwan also emphasized the company’s commitment to purchasing maize and rice from local farmers at fair market prices. Minister Chaudhary lauded the initiative, describing it as a noteworthy step toward agricultural and energy sustainability.
The use of stubble for power generation is expected to provide substantial benefits to farmers, while the ethanol plant is also anticipated to create employment opportunities for the local youth.
