Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh chief ministers Yogi Adityanath has invited Denmark to invest in the state in renewable energy, infrastructure and defence.
Denmark’s Ambassador to India Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday to explore opportunities for partnerships in these areas, The Times of India reported.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister said Uttar Pradesh has emerged as one of the fastest-growing economies in the country, supported by sector-specific policies, improved law and order, and better infrastructure. He invited Danish companies to invest in the state and assured them of full government support, easier approval processes and a secure environment.
He said cooperation in sectors like the Defence Corridor, renewable energy, waste-to-energy, water management, skill development, infrastructure and healthcare could benefit both sides. He added that such partnerships would help create jobs, bring in new technology and support long-term growth in the state.
The Ambassador said Uttar Pradesh has seen major changes over the past nine years and has become an important destination for investment. He noted that the state’s large population, skilled workforce and growing infrastructure are its key strengths.
Kristensen expressed interest in the Defence Corridor and said Danish companies are ready to invest and work together on technology. He also highlighted Denmark’s experience in renewable energy, including solar, hydrogen and compressed biogas, as well as waste-to-energy projects.
On water and waste management, he said work is underway on a river cleaning and water treatment project with IIT (BHU), and added that he plans to visit Varanasi soon. Both sides also discussed possible cooperation in education, skill development, agriculture, agri-tech, food processing and supply chains.
