USDA announces $7 million in payments to boost advanced biofuel production

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins has announced that the Department of Agriculture is making $7 million available to advanced biofuel producers across the country through the Advanced Biofuel Producer Payment Program, a component of the One Big Beautiful Bill. The funding is intended to expand the production of biofuels made from American-grown resources, reports Biomass Magazine.

“President Trump is strengthening and expanding U.S. biofuel production through bold programs like this, ensuring our country’s energy leadership by supporting producers,” Secretary Rollins said. “This locally made biofuel helps lower fuel costs, supports jobs and puts farmers at the forefront.”

The Advanced Biofuel Producer Payment Program provides payments to producers for finished advanced biofuel products. Eligible producers receive payments every quarter based on the volume of qualifying advanced biofuel produced during that period. Advanced biofuels are defined under 7 CFR Part 4288 and 102. Enrollment for the program will run from October 1, 2025, to December 15, 2025.

Producers seeking more information about the program are encouraged to contact their state’s Rural Development Energy Coordinator.
