In its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook released on August 6, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) kept its projections for fuel ethanol production for 2024 and 2025 unchanged. The forecast for fuel ethanol blending also remains steady.
As per repprts, the EIA anticipates that fuel ethanol production will average 1.03 million barrels per day in 2024, slightly decreasing to 1.02 million barrels per day in 2025. The production averaged 1.02 million barrels per day in 2023.
Quarterly forecasts show that fuel ethanol production is expected to average 1.03 million barrels per day in the third quarter of 2024, with a drop to 1.02 million barrels per day in the fourth quarter. For 2025, the production is projected to average 1.02 million barrels per day in the first three quarters and increase to 1.04 million barrels per day in the fourth quarter.
