Union ministers inaugurate REC’s ‘Green Multiplier’ pavilion at Bharat Electricity Summit

New Delhi: Union ministers on Thursday inaugurated REC Limited’s “Green Multiplier” pavilion at the Bharat Electricity Summit, highlighting India’s ongoing shift towards clean energy, according to ANI.

The pavilion was inaugurated by Manohar Lal, Union Minister for Power and Housing and Urban Affairs; Prahlad Joshi, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution; and Shripad Naik, Union Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy.

Senior officials, including Power Secretary Pankaj Agarwal and REC Limited Chairman and Managing Director Jitendra Srivastava, were also present at the event.

The pavilion has been designed as a modern, technology-driven space built around the theme “Financing India’s Energy Abundance.” It presents REC’s approach to supporting the country’s energy transition.

At the centre of the display is the concept of the “Green Multiplier,” which reflects the company’s role in expanding access to clean energy and supporting sustainable projects across the country.

The design of the pavilion, along with its use of colours and visual elements, represents renewable energy, growth, and stability, aligning with India’s move towards a low-carbon economy.

A major highlight of the pavilion is a solar-themed installation inspired by the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. The installation showcases REC’s contribution to expanding access to power and supporting decentralised energy solutions.

The pavilion also presents REC’s financing activities, which support various projects linked to India’s goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2070. Along with the power sector, the display highlights the company’s role in areas such as electric mobility and broader energy transition efforts.

Visitors to the pavilion can explore interactive features, including digital displays and technology-based presentations that explain REC’s initiatives and projects.

Through this showcase, REC Limited aims to underline its role in supporting infrastructure development and clean energy growth in India.
