Fuel ethanol production in the United States saw a nearly 2% increase during the week ending July 25, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) on July 30. The report also showed a slight increase in ethanol stocks and a significant jump in exports, reports Ethanol Producer Magazine.
Production averaged 1.096 million barrels per day, up by 18,000 barrels from the previous week’s average of 1.078 million barrels per day. However, compared to the same week last year, production was down by 13,000 barrels per day.
Fuel ethanol stocks rose to 24.716 million barrels, an increase of 272,000 barrels from the previous week. This marks a year-on-year rise of 743,000 barrels.
Exports reached an average of 154,000 barrels per day during the week ending July 25, up by 46,000 barrels from the previous week’s figure of 108,000 barrels per day. This represents a year-on-year increase of 96,000 barrels per day.
No imports of fuel ethanol were recorded for the week.
