U.S. fuel ethanol production and exports increase slightly with stocks up 3%

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) has reported a small rise in ethanol production for the week ending January 17, alongside increased stock levels and a significant boost in exports.

Ethanol production averaged 1.099 million barrels per day during the week, up by 4,000 barrels from the previous week’s 1.095 million barrels per day. This marks a substantial increase of 281,000 barrels per day compared to the same week last year.

Stocks of ethanol climbed to 25.874 million barrels, an increase of 866,000 barrels compared to the prior week’s 25.008 million barrels. This is 59,000 barrels more than what was recorded during the same period a year ago.

Exports also saw notable growth, averaging 169,000 barrels per day during the week, up by 44,000 barrels from the previous week’s 125,000 barrels per day. This represents a year-on-year rise of 48,000 barrels per day.

The EIA confirmed that no imports of ethanol were recorded for the week ending January 17. These trends indicate steady progress in the U.S. ethanol market, reflecting both increased production and strong export demand.
