U.S. fuel ethanol production rose 1% in the week ending Aug. 8, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) released on Aug. 13. Inventories fell nearly 5%, while exports recorded a 6% increase, reports Ethanol Producer Magazine.
Average daily production reached 1.093 million barrels, up 12,000 barrels from the previous week’s 1.081 million barrels. Compared to the same week last year, output was higher by 21,000 barrels per day.
Ending stocks declined to 22.649 million barrels, down 1.107 million barrels from 23.756 million barrels the week before. Year-on-year, stocks were 705,000 barrels lower.
Exports averaged 123,000 barrels per day, an increase of 7,000 barrels from the prior week and 52,000 barrels above the same week last year. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week.
