Suzuki Motorcycle announces opening of bookings for first electric scooter, e-ACCESS

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL) has opened bookings for its first electric scooter, the Suzuki e-ACCESS, marking the company’s global entry into the electric two-wheeler segment, with India as the launch market.

Along with the announcement, Suzuki also unveiled a new dual-tone colour option—Metallic Mat Stellar Blue / Metallic Mat Fibroin Gray—taking the total number of colour choices for the e-ACCESS to four.

Kenichi Umeda, Managing Director of Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd., said the e-ACCESS is Suzuki’s first global strategic battery electric vehicle. He noted that the scooter has been developed to deliver long battery life, nimble handling, smooth acceleration and high standards of fit and finish, while offering customers a hassle-free ownership experience.

Powered by Suzuki e-Technology, the e-ACCESS uses a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, which the company claims provides up to four times longer battery life than conventional NMC batteries. The scooter is driven by a 4.1 kW motor generating 15 Nm of torque, enabling consistent acceleration even at low state-of-charge levels.

The electric scooter features three riding modes—Eco, Ride A and Ride B—along with reverse mode and regenerative braking. Built on a lightweight chassis with an aluminium battery case integrated into the frame, the e-ACCESS is designed to offer enhanced stability and agile handling. Additional features include LED lighting, two-tone alloy wheels and a maintenance-free drive belt with a claimed lifespan of up to seven years or 70,000 km.

To support customers, Suzuki is leveraging its network of more than 1,200 dealerships across India, all equipped with AC portable chargers, while over 240 outlets currently provide DC fast-charging facilities. The company has also introduced a range of introductory benefits, including an extended warranty of up to seven years or 80,000 km, buy-back assurance, loyalty and welcome bonuses, attractive financing options and flexible rental plans.

The Suzuki e-ACCESS is priced at Rs 1,88,490 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is now available for booking at authorised Suzuki dealerships nationwide. Online bookings via Flipkart will be introduced at a later stage.

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, began operations in India in February 2006 with its manufacturing facility at Kherki Daula in Gurugram, Haryana. The plant has an annual production capacity of 1.3 million units, and the company manufactures scooters, premium motorcycles and big bikes tailored for Indian customers.
