Forestalia’s biomass plant in Cubillos del Sil (El Bierzo), Spain, has entered a technical shutdown phase, reported Bioenergy Insight.
The temporary cessation of operations is necessary to align the plant’s activity with the economic compensation rate specified in the current ministerial order and to address adjustments in the supply of agroforestry biomass, according to the company.
During this shutdown period, surveillance and maintenance work will continue.
Forestalia, along with public entities Junta Somacyl and Sodiar, are collaborating to resume normal operations as quickly as possible.
Once operational, the plant is expected to create approximately 400 direct and indirect jobs, including those related to the transport and supply of agricultural and forestry biomass.
