Shahjahanpur: In a major crackdown, the Shahjahanpur district administration has sealed nine illegal biodiesel pumps operating without licenses. The action followed numerous complaints received by District Magistrate Dharmendra Pratap Singh, who formed nine separate teams to conduct simultaneous raids, reports Daily Bhaskar.
During the raids, approximately 2,500 liters of diesel and 735 liters of petrol were seized. The confiscated fuel is being sent for testing. The pump operators were unable to produce the necessary documents.
According to details, a pump located in Jaurabhud on the Jalalabad-Katra road yielded 1098 liters of diesel and 414 liters of petrol. From a pump in Taharpur village, situated on Mahannandpur Road in Sindhauli, 1300 liters of diesel and 220 liters of petrol were recovered. An illegal pump in Rajanpur, Tilhar, led to the seizure of 101 liters of petrol.
Furthermore, 100 liters of diesel were found at a pump in Dalelapur village on Mudia Kurmiyat Road, along the Banda-Puwayan road. Other sealed pumps include those in Devkali village on the Banda to Nabhichi Road, Pistala on Bilandpur Road opposite Sindhauli police station, Dhakiya Tiwari village on Nigohi Road, and another pump in the Tilhar area.
District Magistrate Dharmendra Pratap Singh stated that all documents found at the sites have been confiscated. He confirmed that First Information Reports (FIRs) will be registered against the operators of these illegal pumps.
