The 2025–26 sugarcane crushing season is now progressly smoothly in Uttar Pradesh, with 113 sugar mills across the state commenced operations as of November 25, according to the Sugar Industry and Cane Development Department, reported ChiniMandi.
According to the department, the mills have together crushed 1,035.82 lakh quintals of sugarcane so far, reflecting a strong start to the season. Of the 113 operational mills, 52 are located in the Central Region, 34 in the Western Region, and 27 in the Eastern Region.
Officials noted that several mills have already started releasing payments to farmers, with many adopting a weekly pay out schedule to ensure timely disbursement. Cane officers have been directed to address farmer complaints promptly and ensure all mills comply with payment norms.
