In a significant step forward for India’s renewable energy sector, Saatvik Solar Industries Private Limited (SSIPL)—a wholly owned subsidiary of Saatvik Green Energy Limited (SGEL)—held a groundbreaking ceremony today, June 5, 2025, for its upcoming 4.00 GW solar PV module manufacturing facility. The project will be established on a 57-acre site sub-leased from Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited (TSSEZL), located at NH-16, Chamakhandi, Gopalpur Industrial Park, Ganjam, Odisha.
The new facility is central to SGEL’s broader strategy to expand capacity and strengthen its presence in the domestic and international solar markets. As part of this expansion, SGEL is also developing an integrated 4.80 GW solar cell and 4.00 GW module manufacturing unit in Odisha, with operations expected to commence by the end of FY 2027 and FY 2026, respectively. Additionally, SGEL is adding 1.00 GW of module capacity at its existing facility in Ambala, slated to become operational in the first quarter of FY 2026.
“With our new facilities in Odisha and additional capacity in Ambala, we expect to reach a total capacity of 4.80 GW for solar cell production and 8.80 GW for integrated cell and module manufacturing,” said Prashant Mathur, CEO of SGEL. “This expansion is a key pillar of our long-term growth strategy, aimed at staying ahead in solar energy production and EPC solutions while meeting the rising demand for high-quality solar modules.”
Mathur emphasized SGEL’s commitment to scaling operations and investing in advanced technology to support India’s renewable energy goals under the Make-in-India initiative.
This project reinforces Saatvik’s dedication to building a strong, self-reliant solar manufacturing ecosystem and contributing meaningfully to the country’s clean energy transition.
