PT Pertamina Patra Niaga strengthens its commitment to sustainability by securing ISCC for Sustainable Aviation Fuel

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, a subsidiary of the state oil and gas company PT Pertamina, has reinforced its commitment to sustainability by obtaining the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) for its Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This certification is recognized under the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) and the Renewable Energy Directive-European Union (RED-EU), reported Indonesia Business Post.

With this achievement, Pertamina Patra Niaga becomes the first operator in Southeast Asia to offer ISCC-certified SAF, representing a significant advancement in reducing carbon emissions within the aviation sector.

Maya Kusmaya, Director of Central Marketing and Commerce at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, highlighted that this certification underscores the company’s commitment to advancing environmentally friendly fuels.

“This marks a historic milestone for the regional energy industry, providing airlines in Indonesia and beyond with the opportunity to use fuels that greatly cut their carbon footprint,” Maya stated on August 22, 2024.

The ISCC certification establishes Pertamina Patra Niaga as the first Southeast Asian operator to offer ISCC-certified Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

The certification was officially presented to Maya Kusmaya by Ryanza Prasetya, CEO of PT Qualitas Sertifikat Indonesia, on August 19, 2024.
