Philippine Airlines has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350-1000, becoming the 10th airline in the world to operate the largest version of the aircraft. The delivery marks a major step in the carrier’s plan to strengthen its long-distance operations, reports Travel Trends Today.
The aircraft features a three-class layout with 382 seats and is expected to play a key role in expanding the airline’s long-haul services across the Pacific. With its improved fuel efficiency and longer range, the A350-1000 will allow Philippine Airlines to operate more non-stop flights to major destinations in North America.
The aircraft is the first of nine A350-1000s ordered by the airline under its ongoing fleet expansion programme. It will operate alongside the airline’s existing A350-900 aircraft, which are already used on routes to the United States.
Philippine Airlines said the addition of the A350-1000 will support its plans to increase long-haul capacity, improve reliability and offer a better travel experience for passengers on international routes.
