Muscat: Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMCO) has inaugurated the Duqm Gateway Station at the Duqm Special Economic Zone, featuring the first fuel station in Oman to supply biodiesel. The launch marks a key step in strengthening the country’s energy and logistics infrastructure while supporting the rapid growth of Duqm, one of Oman’s major economic hubs, reports Oman Observer.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Ibtisam bint Ahmed Al Farooji, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for investment promotion, in the presence of Ashraf bin Hamad Al Maamari, Group CEO of OQ, Tarik bin Mohammed Al Junaidi, CEO of Oman Oil Marketing Company, and representatives from several government and private organisations.
The Duqm Gateway Station is equipped with high operational capacity, capable of pumping up to 750 liters per minute, making it one of Oman’s most efficient refueling stations. It functions as a comprehensive facility for fuel supply and logistics, offering services such as truck and tanker maintenance, oil changes, and washing facilities. It also features modern top-loading systems and digital technologies to improve operational safety and efficiency.
Tarik Al Junaidi, CEO of OOMCO, said the new station reflects the company’s commitment to supporting Oman’s development goals. He said the Duqm Gateway Station represents progress in both infrastructure and sustainability, providing dependable services for transport operators and contributing to the region’s economic activity.
The site also includes shaded truck bays, a convenience store, rest areas, and facilities ready for renewable fuel dispensing and digital payment systems. The new station adds to OOMCO’s growing presence in Duqm, which already includes the OOMCO Marine bunker terminal at the Port of Duqm, supplying marine fuel and storage services to international shipping lines.
