Oman and South Korea discuss green hydrogen cooperation

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, His Excellency Mohsen bin Hamad Al Hadhrami, met senior officials in Seoul to discuss stronger energy cooperation and new opportunities in green hydrogen, reports Solarquarter.

Al Hadhrami held talks with His Excellency Lee Ho-hyun, Second Assistant Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, and His Excellency Kang Kyung-sung, CEO of the Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). The meetings focused on building closer ties and promoting the third round of green hydrogen projects, in line with Oman’s Vision 2040 and its goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.

Al Hadhrami said the discussions showed both countries’ shared interest in working together on clean energy. He noted that green hydrogen could play an important role in creating sustainable growth and new investment opportunities.

The meetings were also attended by His Excellency Zakaria bin Hamad Al Saadi, Oman’s Ambassador to South Korea, and Eng. Abdulaziz bin Saeed Al Shidhani, General Manager of Hydrogen Oman Company (Hydrome).
