NTPC Limited informed stock exchanges on July 17, 2026, that its subsidiary THDC India Limited (THDC) has declared commercial operation of an 11 MWac floating solar plant set up on the raw water reservoir of the Khurja Super Thermal Power Project (STPP), effective the same day.
The disclosure was made by NTPC to BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 (LODR Regulations). The filing was signed by Ritu Arora, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, NTPC.
According to a separate filing by THDC, the floating solar plant achieved commercial operation date (COD) following successful commissioning and receipt of due approvals. The company said the development was disclosed under Regulation 51(1) read with Part B of Schedule III of the SEBI LODR Regulations. The THDC filing was signed by Rashmi Sharma, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer.
With the addition of the floating solar unit, THDC’s total installed and commercial capacity has risen to 3,918 MW, the company said.
NTPC noted that, following this addition, the total installed capacity of the NTPC group now stands at 90,965 MW, while its commercial capacity has reached 89,885 MW.
