NTPC Green declares commercial operation of 50 MW solar capacity at Rajasthan RTC project

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has declared commercial operation of a 50 megawatt (MW) solar capacity at a 200 MW renewable energy Round The Clock (RTC) project in Rajasthan, effective from 00:00 hours on October 2, 2026, according to a regulatory filing by its parent NTPC Limited.

The capacity is the fourth part of the project’s 300 MW cumulative solar component. The project belongs to Project Sixteen Renewable Power Private Limited, a step-down subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, NGEL’s joint venture, the filing showed.

According to NGEL’s disclosure to the stock exchanges, the commercial capacity of the NGEL group currently stands at 11,212.51 MW. With the addition of this capacity, the group’s total installed capacity has risen to 11,262.51 MW, the company said.

NTPC said that with this development, the total installed capacity of the NTPC group stands at 91,506 MW, while its commercial capacity is 90,426 MW.

The disclosures were made under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, which requires listed companies to inform the stock exchanges of material developments.

RTC renewable energy projects are designed to supply power continuously, and the latest addition brings the solar component of the Rajasthan project closer to its planned 300 MW capacity.
