Nitin Gadkari unveils Kirloskar Oil Engines’s new ethanol and isobutanol engines

Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited (KOEL) unveiled its pioneering Ethanol and Isobutanol engine technology, the world’s first for Genset applications evaluated by ARAI. The launch, officiated by Honourable Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari, underscored the government’s push for alternative fuel solutions as a cornerstone of India’s journey towards energy independence and environmental stewardship.

Timed around World Biofuel Day, the unveiling reinforces KOEL’s leadership in clean energy solutions and its dedication to supporting India’s energy diversification agenda. CEO of KOEL, Rahul Sahai, stated, “This innovation underscores our commitment to cleaner, sustainable power. By adopting Ethanol and Isobutanol engines, we’re supporting the country’s goals for environmental protection and energy diversification.”

The newly launched engines incorporate advanced combustion technology that cuts greenhouse gas emissions, are compatible with renewable fuels like Ethanol and Isobutanol to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, deliver strong performance across a range of commercial and industrial uses, and are produced using sustainable, resource-efficient manufacturing practices.

This initiative aligns with KOEL’s vision of powering a sustainable future, offering dependable energy solutions while minimizing environmental impact. By incorporating renewable fuel technologies into its product lineup, KOEL continues to support the Government of India’s efforts to promote clean energy and reduce dependence on imported oil.
