New Delhi (India): Nawgati, a leading fuel-tech solutions provider operating across India and the UAE, has announced its official entry into Sri Lanka. The move marks a major step in the company’s international expansion strategy, as it accelerates digitisation across emerging fuel markets.
Sri Lanka has been identified as a high-potential market due to structural and operational similarities with India, including the presence of major Indian fuel retailers, comparable compliance frameworks, and a demographic profile aligned with Nawgati’s existing deployments. These factors enable the company to scale efficiently with minimal friction.
The company will establish its Sri Lanka headquarters at the World Trade Centre in Colombo. Phase one of the rollout will begin in Colombo, followed by expansion into additional high-density urban regions. Nawgati will introduce its flagship platforms to support both operators and consumers:
Aaveg — a congestion and compliance intelligence platform for fuel station operators and oil marketing companies.
Nawgati Fueling App — a consumer-focused app offering real-time fuel availability, wait-time visibility, and a more predictable fueling experience.
Commenting on the expansion, Vaibhav Kaushik, CEO & Co-founder of Nawgati, said, “Sri Lanka fits seamlessly into our growth strategy, not just geographically but operationally. The market readiness, regulatory alignment, and presence of established Indian operators create a strong foundation for scale. Our goal is to reduce uncertainty, improve efficiency, and enable smarter, connected fueling ecosystems for both operators and consumers. This is a long-term investment and a milestone in our global roadmap.”
Nawgati is in early discussions with private-sector fuel operators in Sri Lanka and is also exploring collaborations with government stakeholders to enable nationwide adoption of compliance and monitoring infrastructure. Over the next 2–5 years, the company aims to drive wide-scale deployment of its solutions, enabling better operational efficiency and enhanced transparency for fuel station networks across the country.
