Maruti Suzuki is getting ready to launch its first electric car, the e Vitara, and as part of the preparations, the company has announced a major expansion of its service network across India, reports Carwale.com.
The carmaker plans to increase the number of its service centers to 8,000 by the financial year 2030-31. At present, it operates over 5,400 service stations across the country. In a recent milestone, Maruti Suzuki serviced 24.5 lakh vehicles in a single month, highlighting the scale of its operations.
To support electric vehicle customers, the company will also set up more than 1,500 workshops that will focus only on electric vehicles. These centers will have specially trained staff and necessary tools to handle the unique needs of electric cars.
The e Vitara will be Maruti Suzuki’s first electric model in the Indian market. Already sold in international markets, the car will be available in India with two battery options, 49kWh and 61kWh, and is expected to offer a driving range of up to 500 kilometers on a full charge.
Once launched, the e Vitara will compete with other electric SUVs like the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, and MG ZS EV.
Maruti Suzuki, one of India’s most popular car brands, is taking these steps to ensure that customers across the country have the support they need when they choose to buy an electric car.
