Mahindra Tractors, the Indian tractor manufacturer, unveiled its inaugural CBG (Compressed Bio-Gas) powered Yuvo Tech+ tractor today in New Delhi, with Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, in attendance, reported BW Autoworld.
The Mahindra CBG-powered tractor marks a major advancement in tractor technology by utilizing compressed bio-gas, which significantly reduces pollutants and carbon emissions. Unlike CNG, which relies on fossil fuels, compressed bio-gas is a renewable, green fuel derived from the decomposition of biodegradable materials such as farm waste and other organic matter, thereby decreasing dependence on fossil fuels.
The Yuvo Tech+ CBG tractor from Mahindra delivers power and performance on par with traditional diesel tractors, effectively managing farming and haulage tasks while maintaining strong operational capabilities. This new CBG tractor adheres to stringent norms and meets all Indian standards.
In recent years, Mahindra has also demonstrated various alternative fuel tractor technologies, including CNG, LPG, and dual-fuel options.
