ITM Power selected for major green hydrogen projects in UK

Sheffield-based electrolyser manufacturer ITM Power has been chosen as the supplier for a large-scale green hydrogen project in the UK. The project was one of the successful bids in the government’s Hydrogen Allocation Round 2 (HAR2), alongside a separate, smaller initiative in the country, reports The Business Desk.

Both projects will use ITM Power’s POSEIDON electrolysis module, the company’s core technology for producing green hydrogen. The aim is to supply hydrogen to local industries as a way to cut carbon emissions.

The names of the projects and customers have not been disclosed, and each remains subject to a Final Investment Decision (FID).

Dennis Schulz, CEO of ITM Power, said, “It’s exciting to be chosen for another HAR2 project so soon after our selection for Uniper’s 120MW Humber project. This shows the UK is beginning to move forward on green hydrogen, and it also reflects our growing presence in our home market.”
