InSolare Energy wins 600 MW / 1,200 MWh BESS project from SECI

In a significant milestone for India’s renewable energy sector, InSolare Energy Limited has been awarded a 600 MW / 1,200 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) contract by the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI). This project, one of SECI’s largest standalone BESS awards to date, highlights InSolare’s growing leadership in clean energy infrastructure and marks a major expansion of its footprint across the renewable energy value chain—from solar EPC to advanced energy storage, module manufacturing, green hydrogen, and green ammonia.

The 16-year-old clean energy company continues its legacy of innovation, now extending into India’s latest grid-scale energy storage milestone.

Located in Kolimigundla, Nandiyal District, Andhra Pradesh, and connected to the Kurnool-3 substation of the ISTS network, the project encompasses design, engineering, civil works, installation, testing, commissioning, and five years of comprehensive operation and maintenance. It is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing India’s renewable energy reliability and grid stability under SECI’s ambitious clean energy framework.

Founded in 2008 with a mission to power India’s solar revolution, InSolare has consistently pioneered renewable solutions, including India’s first 5 MW solar tracker project in 2011 and Asia’s largest canal-top solar system in 2017. With an EPC portfolio exceeding 1 GW across 22 states, the company’s recent ventures into Topcon module manufacturing, electrolyser technology, and green hydrogen reflect its evolution into a full-stack energy infrastructure provider capable of delivering integrated clean energy solutions.

“Addressing climate change has always been our guiding principle, and innovation has been central to delivering solutions that excel in quality and performance,” said Dr. Sunit Tyagi, Chairman & Managing Director of InSolare Energy Limited. “This BESS project represents another engineering milestone, making India’s clean energy both dependable and scalable. Our expansion into energy storage ensures that sustainability and reliability progress hand in hand.”

The SECI award further reinforces InSolare’s position as a trusted partner in India’s Net Zero journey. With increasing renewable penetration, large-scale storage is critical to balancing supply and demand, preventing curtailment, and stabilizing the national grid. SECI’s selection of InSolare reflects the company’s technical expertise, executional excellence, and alignment with India’s energy security objectives.

Over the years, InSolare has redefined the EPC model by combining data-driven precision, in-house R&D, and customer-centric delivery. Its experience with hybrid systems, floating solar, and innovative deployment models provides a competitive advantage in executing high-performance projects.

Looking forward, the company envisions energy infrastructure that is locally manufactured, globally benchmarked, and digitally managed—leveraging AI-based forecasting, storage analytics, and sustainable construction practices.

“With every project, we ask one question,” said Dr. Hemanshu Bhatt, Executive Director & CTO. “How can we deliver energy that is cleaner, smarter, and more enduring? The answer lies in relentless innovation, disciplined execution, and unwavering integrity—values that define InSolare’s culture and team.”
