SAEL Industries Ltd., a fully integrated renewable energy company, has successfully commissioned its first solar power project in Rajasthan through its subsidiary, Sunfree Energy RJP1 Pvt. Ltd. The project, located in the Jalore district, has a capacity of 200 MW (AC) and 298 MW (DC), spanning over 1,000 acres.
A 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the project was signed with Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Ltd. (RUVITL) on February 20, 2024, at a tariff of ₹2.61 per kWh.
Highlighting the achievement, Mr. Laxit Awla, Director of SAEL Industries Ltd., stated, “Rajasthan has played a pivotal role in India’s renewable energy journey, and our Jalore solar project further reinforces that role. Completing the project ahead of schedule is a source of pride for us. We are grateful to the Government of Rajasthan and all agencies involved for their timely support and assistance in overcoming on-ground execution challenges.”
“This project is particularly significant as it marks SAEL’s largest solar installation connected to a State Transmission Utility,” Mr. Awla added. “More than 80% of the solar modules used in this plant were manufactured at our own facility in Kishangarh, Rajasthan. Our commitment remains centered on delivering sustainable solutions and driving energy independence.”
Commissioned on August 17, 2025—well before its Scheduled Commercial Operation Date (SCOD), the project is expected to facilitate early transmission and boost the state’s power supply.
The solar installation features advanced TOPCon Solar PV modules with 146-cell and 156-cell configurations, offering peak outputs of up to 635 WP and efficiency levels reaching 22.95%. Its strategic location ensures efficient transmission connectivity and grid integration, while also reducing transmission losses.
