India Energy Week 2025 to witness unprecedented global participation and Innovation

India Energy Week 2025 (IEW’25) is poised to become the first major global energy event of the year, offering the most comprehensive and inclusive gathering in the energy sector. This comes in the wake of significant global developments that are expected to reshape the energy market, according to Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, during a media interaction today.

Speaking about the event, which will take place at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, from February 11 to 14, 2025, Puri emphasized India’s rising prominence in the global energy sector. He noted that IEW’25 will surpass its previous editions in both scale and impact. The event, spanning over 100,000 square meters, will be the second-largest global energy event in terms of participation from ministers and CEOs, exhibition space, and the number of sessions.

IEW’25 continues its rapid growth, with remarkable expansion in key areas. The Minister highlighted the increase in exhibition space by 65% compared to 2024 (28,000 sqm), a rise in conference sessions to 105 (15% higher than 2024 and 24% higher than 2023), and a substantial 55% increase in delegates (70,000+ attendees, up from 45,000 in 2024). Furthermore, the number of speakers has grown by 38% (500 speakers), and exhibitors have increased by 57%, reaching over 700 (115% higher than 2023). A 35% rise in submitted abstracts (2,702) and an increase in international speakers at the Strategic Conference from 33% to 48% are also noteworthy developments.

On the sidelines of IEW’25, the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas will organize a Clean Cooking Ministerial, aimed at bringing global policymakers, industry leaders, and experts together to accelerate the shift toward clean cooking solutions. The event will highlight the success of India’s Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) as a model for global adoption, focusing on fostering international collaboration, driving policy discussions, and facilitating technology exchange to ensure affordable and accessible clean cooking energy worldwide.

Puri also emphasized the event’s unprecedented scale, with 10 country pavilions, including Canada, Germany, Japan, the USA, and the UK, as well as 8 thematic zones covering key topics such as hydrogen (1951 sqm), biofuels (1164 sqm), and net-zero initiatives (350 sqm).

The event will feature participation from key Indian energy ministries, including the Ministry of Power, MNRE, NITI Aayog, and the Ministry of Mines, underscoring India’s commitment to integrated energy solutions. The Sustainable Mobility Pavilion, hosted by SIAM, will showcase 15 cutting-edge vehicle models from 10 OEMs, all centered around the theme “People-Centric Mobility Ecosystem.”

Puri also encouraged attendees to explore innovative technologies developed by Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), such as ONGC’s deep-sea simulation game, HPCL’s indigenous Solid Oxide Fuel Cell System, BPCL’s LPG cylinder ATM, and CSIR’s e-tractor for sustainable farming.

With its vast scale, innovation, and global participation, IEW’25 is set to position India at the forefront of the global energy transition.
