Illegal biodiesel worth ₹12.33 lakh seized in Buldhana

Buldhana: The Buldhana district administration has seized 23,090 kg of illegal biodiesel valued at ₹12.33 lakh during a surprise inspection on the Vadner–Malkapur Road. The operation was conducted on Saturday under the supervision of district collector Dr. Kiran Patil, who has launched a crackdown on unauthorised fuel movement in the district, reports The Times of India.

Acting on a tip-off, officials inspected a tanker found parked suspiciously along the roadside. The driver, identified as Sahdev, allegedly gave evasive and contradictory replies, prompting a detailed check. The tanker was found loaded with illegal biodiesel.

A preliminary inquiry revealed that the consignment had been transported from Bharuch district in Gujarat and was headed to Malkapur in Buldhana. Tehsildar Rahul Tayade and supply inspector Dhanashree Harane initiated the process of filing an FIR, after which the tanker was seized. A case has been registered for illegal transportation, storage, and sale of biodiesel.

The district administration and police inspector Ganesh Giri are conducting further investigation. Collector Dr. Patil said strict action would be taken against all those involved in the illegal trade.
