HPCL and Thermax collaborate on clean and new energy technologies

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Thermax Limited (Thermax) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at India Energy Week (IEW) 2026 in Goa, marking a strategic step towards advancing clean and new energy solutions, the company said in an exchange filing with the NSE.

The collaboration will focus on the joint development and commercialization of emerging technologies, including HP AEM Electrolyzers, CO₂ capture solutions, and bio-pyrolysis oil processing. By combining HPCL’s process innovation and R&D capabilities with Thermax’s engineering and industrial implementation strengths, the partnership aims to deliver scalable and indigenous energy solutions. This MoU reinforces the commitment of both organizations to “Make in India” and supports India’s energy transition through sustainable, low-carbon technologies.

India Energy Week is the country’s flagship global energy platform, bringing together government leaders, industry executives and innovators to accelerate progress toward a secure, sustainable and affordable energy future. As a neutral international forum, IEW drives investment, policy alignment and technological collaboration shaping the global energy landscape. The four day programme began on January 27 and concluded on January 30.
