Green Hydrogen boost: By 2030, India will likely have electrolyzer capacity of 60-100 GW, says Joshi

On Friday, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi predicted that by 2030, India is expected to have installed electrolyzer capacity ranging from 60 GW to 100 GW. He made this statement while inaugurating Ohmium’s advanced electrolyser manufacturing facility in Karnataka. Joshi highlighted that the increasing demand for Green Hydrogen will be a key driver for the expansion of electrolyzer installations across India.

Joshi commended Ohmium’s electrolyser facility, describing it as cutting-edge and capable of potentially transforming Karnataka’s and India’s ambitions in green energy. He emphasized that such modern facilities, like the one inaugurated in Karnataka, will enhance India’s energy security by promoting the production of green hydrogen. This initiative aims to reduce dependency on fossil fuels while integrating solar and wind energy into the country’s energy mix.
