Greenzo Energy Limited, recognized as India’s first integrated Green Hydrogen company, has marked a significant step in the country’s clean energy journey by securing a prestigious Research & Development (R&D) order from Engineers India Limited (EIL). EIL, a Navratna public sector enterprise operating under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, awarded the project to Greenzo Energy following a comprehensive technical evaluation.
The contract, formalized through a Letter of Intent (LoI) and a purchase order issued via the Government e-Marketplace platform, includes the supply, site installation, and essential spare parts for a Hydrogen Electrolyser Modular Unit. This unit is set to be installed at the EIL R&D Complex located in Sector 16, Gurgaon, Haryana. The project underscores Greenzo Energy’s advanced expertise in hydrogen technologies and reflects the Government of India’s growing confidence in domestic companies to lead the global clean energy transformation.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Sandeep Agarwal, Managing Director of Greenzo Energy Limited, stated:
“We are truly honored to receive this R&D order from Engineers India Limited, a distinguished PSU that has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s energy infrastructure. This milestone highlights Greenzo Energy’s pioneering position as the country’s first dedicated Green Hydrogen company and reaffirms the trust placed in us by the Government. Our aim is to deliver state-of-the-art, scalable hydrogen electrolyser technologies that are globally competitive. This initiative goes beyond deploying technology—it represents our commitment to building a sustainable future, reducing import dependency, and positioning India as a frontrunner in the global hydrogen economy.”
Boosting India’s Indigenous Green Hydrogen Innovation
This development aligns with India’s ongoing efforts under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, which aims to establish the country as a key player in green hydrogen production and exports. By awarding this R&D contract to Greenzo Energy, EIL has demonstrated strong faith in India’s capability to innovate and drive the clean energy agenda forward.
The project is expected to lay the groundwork for scalable and locally developed hydrogen solutions applicable across critical sectors such as refineries, fertilizer manufacturing, steel, and cement—industries that are vital to meeting India’s decarbonization goals.
A Strategic Win for Greenzo Energy
This partnership reinforces Greenzo Energy’s role as a trailblazer in the hydrogen sector. The company has been steadily developing a comprehensive value chain—spanning R&D, manufacturing, and project implementation. With this new order, Greenzo further establishes itself as a reliable partner to government institutions, public sector undertakings, and private enterprises working towards a greener and more self-reliant energy future for India.
