On the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day, Ola Electric hosted its flagship event, Sankalp 2025, unveiling a range of new technologies and products that highlight its commitment to innovation and self-reliance.
Among the major announcements was the introduction of the 4680 Bharat Cell, Ola’s indigenously developed lithium-ion cell, and the debut of India’s first rare-earth-free Ferrite Motor. The company also showcased its latest AI-powered operating system, MoveOS 6, along with the Gen 4 platform, which is designed to be lighter, faster, and scalable across two-, three-, and four-wheelers, as well as for drones and humanoid applications — all conceptualized and developed entirely in India.
“Ola’s 4680 Bharat Cell, Ferrite Motor, MoveOS, and Gen 4 platform — everything has been imagined, engineered, and built right here in India,” said Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CEO of Ola Electric Mobility, in a post on X. “This is our vision to secure India’s energy independence and establish the country as a global leader in the EV and energy sector.”
Another highlight of the event was the reveal of the Diamondhead electric motorcycle prototype, a futuristic concept that Aggarwal described as “more than engineering, more than innovation.” He emphasized its ambition to push boundaries, calling it “a step towards singularity, where man and machine merge to achieve what neither could alone.” While details were limited, he hinted at a possible launch by 2027, with a targeted price below ₹5 lakh.
Ola also introduced the S1 Pro Sport, a sportier version of its electric scooter, equipped with performance-focused upgrades including gas-charged rear suspension, retuned front forks, carbon fiber accents, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The company expects to begin deliveries of the S1 Pro Sport by January 2026.
In another key update, Aggarwal announced that the 4680 Bharat Cell will be integrated into upcoming models like the Roadster X+ and S1 Pro+, with deliveries scheduled to start during Navratri.
Reflecting on the event, Aggarwal wrote, “Sankalp 2025 – with India Inside! This event was a celebration of homegrown innovation and vertical integration, showcasing how we’re building world-class products and securing our supply chain sovereignty — all made by Indians, for India and the world.”
India has set ambitious targets of achieving 30% EV adoption by 2030 and reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2070. Ola’s announcements at Sankalp 2025 signal a significant step towards supporting these national goals.
