Egypt is set to build the world’s largest green hydrogen plant in South Sinai. The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) is leading the project, working with the Ministry of Military Production. The project is expected to cost $17 billion, reports Hydrogen Central.
The massive plant will cover 127 square kilometers and aims to produce up to 400,000 tons of green hydrogen each year. The project will be built in three phases. The first phase is expected to be finished by 2030, the second by 2033, and the final phase by 2035.
