CM Mohan Yadav launches green hydrogen project in Morena, calls it a new era of industrial growth

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday laid the foundation for a hydrogen production unit in Piparseva, Morena, calling it the beginning of a new chapter in Madhya Pradesh’s industrial and green energy journey, reports The Economic Times.

Addressing a public gathering after the groundbreaking ceremony for GH2 Solar Limited’s project, Yadav said the initiative marks “the start of a new industrial revolution, a new energy revolution, and a new Madhya Pradesh.” He added that the project would not only strengthen the state’s economy but also establish Morena as a hub for clean energy.

Highlighting the region’s transformation, the Chief Minister said Morena is no longer defined by its ravines. “The district is now becoming a center of industry and progress. Morena is known worldwide for its famous ‘Gajak,’ and even the design of India’s old Parliament building drew inspiration from the Mitawali temple here,” he said.

Spread across seven acres, the new unit will produce green hydrogen while incorporating advanced technologies such as hydrogen storage and battery energy systems. The project is expected to create 500 direct jobs and many more indirect employment opportunities.

The Chief Minister also announced that leading companies from South Korea and the United Kingdom are providing technical support for the facility.

He further informed that since April 2024, land has been allotted to 220 industrial units in the region, involving investments worth Rs 12,500 crore and generating employment for over 21,000 people. “A network of industrial areas and parks is being developed in the Gwalior-Chambal region to support this momentum,” Yadav said.
