Chief Ethanol partners with Fluid Quip and Whitefox to modernize its ethanol facility

Chief Ethanol has entered into a partnership with Fluid Quip Technologies and Whitefox Technologies to upgrade its ethanol plant in Hastings, with the aim of reducing energy and water use and improving long-term performance, News Channel Nebraska reported.

As part of the agreement, Fluid Quip Technologies will oversee the engineering and construction work at the facility, including the installation of low-energy distillation equipment. Whitefox Technologies will supply membrane-based systems as part of a wider overhaul of the plant’s distillation, dehydration and evaporation units.

Company officials said the project combines multiple technologies into a single, energy-efficient setup. The upgrades are expected to lower overall energy consumption and enhance the reliability of operations over time.

Wayne Garrett, general manager of Chief Ethanol, said the partnership highlights the company’s focus on improving operations and adopting new approaches that support the future of ethanol production at the Hastings site.

Representatives from the companies said the collaboration allows them to jointly develop a solution aimed at boosting efficiency and performance across ethanol facilities.

Chief Ethanol added that the initiative underlines its strategy of strengthening sustainability and competitiveness through targeted partnerships, rather than relying on isolated plant upgrades.
