On Friday, Bajaj Auto’s Managing Director, Rajiv Bajaj, announced the company’s development of a range of clean fuel CNG motorcycles, with the first model slated to debut in June. This bike, powered by CNG, will be introduced to the market as part of Bajaj Group’s commitment to investing Rs. 5,000 crore in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives over the next five years.
Targeting consumers prioritizing fuel efficiency, the upcoming CNG bike will be launched under a distinct brand. It is anticipated that these CNG motorcycles will come at a higher price point compared to their petrol counterparts, attributed to increased manufacturing costs and the incorporation of a specialized tank to provide both petrol and CNG fuel options for customer convenience.
Additionally, Bajaj highlighted the imminent achievement of 2 million units sold for its Pulsar model, initially launched 20 years ago.
Simultaneously, the Bajaj Group unveiled its commitment of Rs. 5,000 crore toward social impact initiatives over the next five years, focusing on skill development under the banner of ‘Bajaj Beyond.’ This initiative aims to empower over 2 crore young individuals to seize employment and entrepreneurial opportunities within India’s expanding economy.
Chairman Niraj Bajaj emphasized the enduring commitment of the Bajaj Family to social responsibility, citing nearly Rs. 4,000 crore contributed over the past decade to CSR initiatives, with a primary focus on education, healthcare, livelihood, water conservation, and various developmental areas.
