Argentina raises biofuel prices for domestic market blending

The Argentine government has announced an increase in biofuel prices for blending with fossil fuels in the domestic market. The revised rates were detailed in resolutions published in the official gazette on Monday, reports Reuters.

According to the Energy Secretariat, the minimum price for sugarcane-based bioethanol has been set at 918.025 pesos ($0.65) per liter, up from 891.286 pesos. Similarly, the price of corn-based ethanol has risen to 841.394 pesos per liter from the earlier 816.887 pesos.

The rate of biodiesel for mandatory blending with diesel has also been raised to 1,688,961 pesos per metric ton, compared to the previous 1,590,832 pesos.

These new prices take effect immediately and will remain valid until further updates are announced.

Argentina, one of the world’s leading biofuel producers—especially in biodiesel—frequently revises domestic prices to reflect market conditions.
