Adani Total Gas, Reliance’s Jio-bp partner to offer each other’s fuels in select outlets

In a move aimed at reshaping the auto fuel retail landscape in India, Adani Total Gas and Jio-bp—Reliance BP Mobility’s operating brand—announced a strategic partnership on Wednesday, according to a joint statement.

As part of this collaboration, select Adani Total Gas fuel stations will begin retailing Jio-bp’s high-performance petrol and diesel. In return, Jio-bp outlets located within Adani Total Gas’ designated Geographical Areas (GAs) will incorporate Adani Total Gas’ CNG dispensing infrastructure. The arrangement is designed to broaden the availability of premium fuel options for Indian transport consumers.

Adani Total Gas, a joint venture between the Adani Group and TotalEnergies, is a prominent city gas distribution (CGD) company in India, providing natural gas to households, industries, commercial establishments, and motorists. The company is also expanding into clean mobility solutions such as Compressed Biogas (CBG), EV charging, and LNG for transportation.

Jio-bp, a joint venture between Reliance Industries Limited and bp, operates a large-scale mobility and fuel retail business across the country, with a focus on both conventional fuels and low-carbon energy alternatives. It also runs modern retail and convenience outlets as part of its integrated services.

“We share a common vision to deliver a superior range of high-quality fuels to consumers. Jio-bp has always focused on providing an exceptional customer experience, and this collaboration allows both companies to build on each other’s strengths,” said Sarthak Behuria, Chairman of Jio-bp.

Echoing this sentiment, Suresh P. Manglani, Executive Director and CEO of Adani Total Gas Ltd., said, “Our goal is to offer a comprehensive portfolio of fuel options at our outlets. This partnership enables us to combine infrastructure and expand the quality and convenience available to customers.”

The agreement applies to both current and future fuel stations operated by the two companies.

At present, Adani Total Gas runs a network of 650 CNG stations, while Jio-bp operates around 2,000 outlets. This alliance represents a significant step forward for both companies as they work toward sustainable growth and enhanced consumer service in India’s evolving energy landscape.
