Adani Green announces new subsidiary Adani Green Energy Sixty Eight Limited to focus on renewable energy generation

Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has announced the incorporation of a new wholly owned subsidiary, Adani Green Energy Sixty Eight Limited (AGE68L), marking another significant step in its renewable energy expansion. The company made the announcement in a regulatory filing on Saturday.

AGE68L, which is incorporated in India, will focus on advancing clean energy initiatives. According to the filing, Adani Renewable Energy Holding Nine Limited (AREH9L), a fully owned subsidiary of AGEL, has established AGE68L to bolster the group’s efforts in the renewable energy sector.

AGE68L to Drive Renewable Energy Development

The primary objective of AGE68L is to generate, develop, transform, distribute, and supply electrical energy through renewable sources, including wind, solar, and other sustainable energy alternatives. This aligns with AGEL’s broader strategy of expanding its renewable energy footprint and contributing to India’s decarbonization goals.

The subsidiary has been incorporated with an authorized and paid-up capital of Rs 1,00,000, with Adani Renewable Energy Holding Nine Limited holding 100% of its share capital. AGE68L is registered with the Registrar of Companies in Gujarat, Ahmedabad, but has yet to commence business operations.

AGEL’s Expanding Renewable Energy Portfolio

Adani Green Energy Limited is a key player in India’s renewable energy transition, focusing on utility-scale, grid-connected solar, wind, and hybrid power plants. AGEL is developing one of the world’s largest renewable energy projects at Khavda, Gujarat, which will span 538 sq km and have a capacity of 30 GW. This project is set to establish a global benchmark for large-scale renewable energy developments.

As of the current fiscal year, AGEL has operationalized 2 GW of solar capacity and 250 MW of wind capacity, with plans for substantial expansion in the second half of the year. The company currently has an operating renewable energy portfolio of 11.2 GW, making it the largest in India, with projects spread across 12 states.

Looking ahead, AGEL aims to achieve 50 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, aligning with India’s ambitious decarbonization and clean energy goals.

With the addition of AGE68L, AGEL continues to reinforce its position as a leader in India’s renewable energy sector, advancing its mission to power the nation with sustainable, clean energy.
