New Delhi: SoftTech Engineers Ltd, in partnership with the National Highway Electric Vehicle Infrastructure, has introduced a GIS-enabled single-window approval system to streamline the development of electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure along India’s national highways, Economic Times reported.
The company said on Tuesday that the platform brings together multiple approval stages—ranging from site selection and compliance checks to final allotment—into a single digital interface, as the country accelerates its push for EV adoption.
Founder and CEO Vijay Gupta said the system is designed to simplify and speed up approvals by connecting all stakeholders through a transparent and unified platform. He noted that the initiative aims to support faster and more efficient development of highway-based EV infrastructure.
The platform is intended for businesses setting up charging stations and roadside amenities, as well as for landowners and service providers. It allows users to track application progress in real time.
A key feature of the system is its GIS layer, which enables applicants to assess potential locations using live highway data before submitting proposals. This is expected to improve planning and decision-making.
The new system replaces the earlier fragmented approval process involving multiple departments with a standardised workflow. Officials said this will help reduce delays, which have been a major challenge in expanding EV infrastructure on highways.
